The purple flower in my yard that I photographed last week has fully opened up. Thanks to Lissa for informing me that it's a Clematis!
Like the Koosh ball, it's difficult to photograph the inner anthers of the flower because the macro setting selects only the tips of the few closest ones for its field of focus.
